Friends, we promised you a show on the mountain beach in Baia Mare and we keep our word! Today it’s time to present to you Detono Zagreb, Croatia’s champion and Europe’s most important beach handball team!

We all know the history Croatia has in handball worldwide. We also know how important is Zagreb in the indoor handball, where it won two Champions Leagues. But the beach handball team is no less. Detono Zagreb is the most important beach handball team in Europe and they come to Baia Mare to raise the trophy again.

Croatia’s champion for the past 11 seasons,  Detono Zagreb came out second at the EBT Finals held in Poland last year. On the preliminary list they have the two markers of ebt Finals 2018, Josip Matezovic and Ivan Juric, with the mention that Josip played last year for Chemo Profili Zagreb team.

“I am really excited that the “ebt Finals” will be held in Romania, a new country in beach handball area that invests in our beautiful and attractive sport. Our expectations from this tournament are the same, as always. I do not want to be arrogant, but we are trying to get the eighth title on the sand in Romania. However, competitors are getting better every year, so it remains to be seen. What we can promise is that we will try to prepare ourselves as well as we can. Besides the gold medal, our secondary goal is to show young players how to behave and how to handle everything during a competition as strong as the “ebt Finals”. I hope we will meet both goals.” said Igor Pozeg, coach Detono Zagreb
